Sabrina Lorene Gravely
Sabrina Lorene Gravely, 51, of Greentown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2023. Born on July 13, 1972, Sabrina was the eldest daughter of Tommy Gravely and Sandra Manns.
She was a 1990 graduate of Whiting High School. In 2000, Sabrina graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was an avid horse lover and was a member of the Purdue Equestrian team during her college years. Sabrina was currently enrolled at Purdue University Global pursuing her MBA. While she lost many years to her struggles with addiction, she will not be defined by them or her mistakes. She was proudly demonstrating to others her current successes and her drive to make forgiveness. While she needed help many times, she was always willing to help others when she could. She wanted to speak out to other women and help them learn from her experiences. Sabrina lived her life out loud and the world was her stage. She had a way of commanding and most likely taking over any room that she entered. She was passionate about music, especially singing and playing guitar. If you knew her, you definitely heard her sing. Sewing, crafting, and journaling were also among her many talents and hobbies. An entrepreneur at heart, she was always trying to self-start a business, whether it be tutoring or life coaching. She had a strong faith and continued her courageous fight to never give up until the end. She attended Greentown Wesleyan Church for the past few years. Sabrina’s greatest accomplishment of all was becoming a mother. She loved her family deeply and desperately wanted to make them proud.
She is survived by her children Jacob Gravely, Isaac Claxton, Tommy Claxton, her father, sister Kelly (Keith) Zaremba, partner Luno Shifflett, step brother Shawn (Dana) Donley, nephews John Dosen and Shawn T. Donley, nieces Kala (Marcus) Cruz, and Sabrina Donley. Sabrina was preceded in death by her mother, step mother Brenda Gravely, and her grandparents.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you share a moment or story of Sabrina’s life where she brought you joy or happiness so her children will know and remember her positive moments. City of Firsts Cremation & Funeral Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
