Christine Earline “Chris” Brady

Christine Earline “Chris” Brady, 82, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born February 23, 1942, in Qulin, Missouri, to Charles Leeland and Myrtle Glodine (Pratt) Miller. She was previously married to Jerry L. Gamblin, Sr., and Jerry Leland Brady.

Chris attended Kokomo High School. She worked as a seamstress and had also worked for the Bargain Center from 2001 to 2004, St. Ann’s Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio, from 1997 to 2000, and was a caretaker for her Aunt Belle from 1992 to 1997. Chris enjoyed quilting, sewing, scrapbooking, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Quilter’s Guild, Tops, and First General Baptist Church, where she served as assistant hostess and assistant children’s church teacher.

Survivors include her children, Glen (Nancy) Gamblin and Stacey (Phillip) Stanley; daughter-in-law, Terry Gamblin; siblings, Dallas (Cecelia) Miller and Alice (Don) Wells; grandchildren, Jessica Gamblin, Joshua (Kristi) Gamblin, Kalvin Gamblin Jr, Christine (Andy) Reid, Dustin (Chelsea) Gamblin, Aaron Church, Mitchell Church, and Will Stanley; as well as many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kalvin Gamblin; brothers, Charles Milford Miller and Johnny Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 West Jefferson Street. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Patricia "Pat" Hudson

Patricia "Pat" Hudson, 82, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.

A visitation for Pat will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Ray E. Noble

Ray E. Noble, 87 of Tipton died peacefully at his residence this morning, March 13, 2024.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 17, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday with a memorial service from the Tipton Elks Lodge. The Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. to begin the funeral.



Kent Fitzpatrick Ridgeway

Kent Fitzpatrick Ridgeway, 53, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away March 11, 2024. He was born on November 19, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Ken and the late, Patricia June (Williams) Ridgeway. Kent was a Northwestern High School graduate where he played baseball, football and basketball. He later went to IU Bloomington, was in the Acacia House Fraternity and was a pitcher there as well. Naturally, Kent was a Bobby Knight and IU basketball fan.He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. He also enjoyed weightlifting, being a personal trainer, and racing jet skis. He was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed all sports, he often knew the players and their records by memory. He was a first responder and worked at Z92.5 and SHINE99. Kent enjoyed traveling especially to the beach. He could often be found floating in the pool for hours on end.

Kent is survived by his father, Dr. Ken Ridgeway; girlfriend, Lisa Mullinax; brother, Kevin (Cynthia) Ridgeway; niece and nephews, Kaylee, Jack, Quinn.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; brother, Kristopher.

There will be a time of visitation for Kent on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 4:00 P.M. Richard L. Baber

Richard L. Baber, 84, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord at 2:56 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Northwoods Village in Kokomo. He was born December 2, 1939, in Peru, Indiana to William Gordon and Florence Marie (Storer) Baber. Richard was a farmer and teamster truck driver for 25 years. Richard married Judy K. Sprinkle on June 26, 1959, in Walton, Indiana, and she survives.

Surviving family include his wife Judy K. Baber of Walton; his children, William “Bill” and wife Susan; Roger C. and wife Lynette Baber both of Galveston, Indiana, and Zane and wife Loretta Baber of Alabama. Surviving grandchildren are Matthew and wife Haley Baber; Leandra and husband Samuel Drummy; Natalie and husband Jimmy Hackett; Ashley and husband Bradley Dickison; Ethan and wife Allie Baber, Evan and wife Jordan Baber; and Evie Baber. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren: one brother, Joe and wife Judy Baber, and sister, Barbara.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow in the Walton IOOF Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Sean Cooper officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request’s donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Richard’s memory.

Peggy Lou Dockemeyer

Peggy Lou Dockemeyer, 79, of Flora, passed away at 9:06 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born March 15, 1944, and was the daughter of Harold R. Sproal and Juanita L. (Holt) Bryant. On April 7, 1984, she married Roger E. Dockemeyer, in Pensacola, Florida, and he survives.

Peggy graduated from the Kokomo Beauty Academy and worked as a hairdresser in Kokomo before working at K-Mart and then later as a hairdresser in Florida. She was an avid Colts and Pacers fan and loved camping, Elvis music, and movies.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Daniel (Angie) Painter, Bridget (Scott) Swing, and Robert (Ozzie) Dockemeyer; grandchildren, Allison Schultz, Jessica (Jarod) Morgan, A.J. Swing, Ashley Swing, Alissa Swing, Dean Dockemeyer, and Wyatt Dockemeyer; great-grandchildren, Loza Eads, Oaklee Morgan, Jett Morgan, and Kowen Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Harold and Maxine Sproal; mother and stepfather, Juanita and Willard Bryant; and sister, Nancy Lee (Dave) Glaze.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Deacon Chuck Springer officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday all at the funeral home.
