Andrew Charles Fenton

Andrew Charles Fenton, 32, of Sharpsville, Indiana passed away March 19, 2024. He was born on March 21, 1991, the son of Duane and Sandy (Birden) Fenton. On June 21, 2010, he married Sherry (Blackburn) Fenton who survives.

Andrew enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, listening to loud music, playing video games, pool, and poker. Most of all Andrew enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughter. Andrew had a big heart for animals and wildlife. He had a heart of gold, a contagious smile and was always there for someone in need.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Sherry Fenton; daughter, Zoey Fenton both of Sharpsville, IN; parents, Duane and Sandy Fenton of Kokomo, IN; sister, Lindsey Hasadinton (Tate) of Indianapolis, IN; grandmother, Dorothy Fenton of Oakwood, OH; father and mother-in-law, Kenny and Stacy Blackburn of Sharpsville, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Gladys Birden; grandfather Norman Fenton and brother Jasson Fenton.

Patricia "Pat" Ann Price

Patricia "Pat" Ann Price, 93, of Kokomo, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on her 93rd birthday March 17, 2024. She was born in Kokomo to the late Guy and Pansy Smillie.

Pat enjoyed reading, usually books about the Amish. She loved playing bingo, cooking, and she especially loved shopping. Pat always enjoyed singing and was in a Seniors singing group called the Joyful Sounds.

Pat is survived by her sons Danny Leroy Chapel, Steven Allen Chapel, Franklin "Guy" Chapel (Cathy), Brian Kent Chapel (Terri); 22 grandchildren Guy Jr., Jason, Zach, Danny Jr., Michelle, Karen, Misty, Cristy, Samantha, Susan, Shawn, Dusty, Summer, Cara, Jennifer, Steve Jr., Alexis, Kevin Jr., Heather, Trianna, and Kati; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents Pat is preceded in death by 3 children Robert Eli Chapel, Kevin William Chapel and Pamela Gene; grandson Shane; great grandson Kaden; her siblings Joe, Frances, Betty and Thresia; her previous husbands Robert Webb, John William Chapel, Gene Price; and her long term companion Blaine Ruth.

A visitation for Pat will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46901, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.

Betty Jane Deck

Betty Jane Deck – age 75 of Luttrell, passed away March 19, 2024, at Tennova North Medical Center. She lived in Kokomo, Indiana, till her retirement from G.M. after 30½ years and then moved to Luttrell. Betty was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by parents, George Burdette and Mary Alford; daughter, Nikki Hollander; siblings, Frankie Burdette, Marietta Long and Mike Swope. Betty is survived by husband of 53 years, Jerry Deck; children, Missy (C.D.) Hill, Angela (Lynn) Newman, Twila (Mark) Doenges and Billy (Sonja) Phillips; ex son-in-law, Eddie Strange; grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Cooke, Brittany Ramsey, Anthony (Becca) Strange, Nathan Strange, Jacob (Brooke) Carr, Zach Hollander, Ashley (Erikson) Arriola, Bonnie Kinney, Bobby Newman, Amber (Jason) Ereth; Nathaniel Phillips and Chris Farrar; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and siblings, Jennifer (Mike) England, Ronnie Swope, Donnie Swope and Jimmy (Lisa) Gilsinger.

A visitation will occur Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM officiated by Philip Deck.

Lindra A. Hiatt

Lindra A. Hiatt, a beacon of love and faith, aged 77, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, in Kokomo, IN. Born on July 12, 1946, in Elwood, IN, to the late Clyde and Pauline Pickard, Lindra's life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit.

On July 16, 1965, Lindra married the love of her life, Jerry Hiatt, and together they embarked on a journey filled with laughter, love, and the blessings of a close-knit family. They were the proud parents of Timothy, Amanda (Bill) Bryan, and Anthony (Gina) Hiatt. Lindra was a devoted sister to her late siblings Marla McElfresh, Janelle Draper, and Steven Pickard. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Alexandra Sheets and Jack Whitehead, with whom she shared countless cherished moments.

A 1964 graduate of Windfall High School, Lindra's dedication to her community was evident in her 15-year tenure with IMMI, where she manufactured seatbelts with meticulous care. Beyond her professional life, Lindra was deeply involved with the First Baptist Church in Russiaville, where she served with a generous heart and unwavering commitment.

Lindra's interests were as rich and varied as her personality. She found solace in the pages of a good book, and joy in the act of cooking, often sharing her culinary creations with those she loved. Her passion for music was evident to all who knew her; the melodies of Frank Sinatra would often fill her home, inspiring an impromptu dance or singalong. Lindra's vibrant tapestry of life mirrored her own nurturing nature.

Above all, Lindra will be remembered as a woman who lived life with a loving and faith-filled heart. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her legacy is one of kindness and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

As we bid farewell to Lindra A. Hiatt, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. Her memory will continue to be a guiding light for those she leaves behind. Lindra's life was a reminder that the most profound legacies are built on love, laughter, and the simple acts of kindness that bind us all together. She will be profoundly missed, but the memories she created will be treasured forever. A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

Jeanne Roselle Cooper

Jeanne Roselle Cooper, 95, passed away March 18, 2024, while living at Century Villa in Greentown, Indiana. She was the daughter of Joseph and Gladys (Whiteman) Strauss, born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on September 26, 1928.

Jeanne was brought up in the Catholic Church and later became a member of the West Street Christian Church in Tipton. She later joined her children attending their churches. Later in life when unable to get out, she would always watch several TV ministries.

Jeanne received her nursing degree in 1951 from Indianapolis General Hospital. She started her career in Obstetrics and Surgery at Mercy Hospital in Elwood, IN. That same year, she moved to Tipton and worked at Tipton Hospital where she continued to be an obstetrics nurse. Jeanne was very proud of delivering 21 babies all by herself while waiting for the doctors to arrive for delivery. In 1972 she was Nurse Supervisor at Higgins Nursing Home. In 1991 she received her certification in Podiatric Radiology while working for her oldest son at his practice in Elkhart, IN. In addition to working in healthcare, she was a wonderful artist and collector of many things.

Survivors include two sons, Randall (Wendy) Cooper, Mark (Sharon) Cooper, and one daughter, Lisa (Gordon) Cope. Grandchildren, Joshua (Michelle) Cooper, Jeni (Aaron) Cooper, Brandon (Jennifer) Cooper, Brittany (Matt) Moloch, Jeremy (Bri) Sullivan, Adam (Tiffannee) Sullivan, Courtney (Rick) Sullivan, Morgan (Shawn) Tokarcik, Makenzie Rogers, Stacy Murray, and Kathi Murray, along with 17 great grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Lena Strauss; adopted daughter, Jane Ann Kaiser; sister, Joanne Sullivan; brother, Jerry Strauss.

She wrote in her diary, “I love my children more than anything. Also, my grandchildren and my precious great grandchildren. I hope I live long enough to see them grow up.”

The family would like to thank the staff at Century Villa for giving the excellent care that Jeanne received while living there, and for their generous love and compassion during her passing.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Century Villa Greentown.
