James K. Rich

James K. Rich, aged 88, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at IU Health Ball Memorial in Muncie. Born in Moss, Tennessee, on May 16, 1936, to James Lester and Eva Jewel (Huffines) Rich, Jim lived a fulfilling life surrounded by the love of his family. He was united in marriage with Barbara Rich on March 29, 1959, and their bond lasted for a remarkable 65 years.

Throughout his career, Jim held various roles, including working as a mechanic, tending to a mink farm, and serving as a press operator at Steel Parts until his retirement in 1995. He was also known as one of the founding members of the Quarter Miler's Auto Club. An avid lover of the outdoors, Jim found joy in activities such as trap shooting, bass fishing, and playing golf.

In addition to his beloved wife, Barb, Jim is survived by his cherished daughters Marqie Cornelius (Jeff) and Denise Ireland (Rob) all of Tipton; along with his sister Joanna Coonrod (Charles) of Kokomo. His legacy lives on through his four grandchildren, Jeff Cornelius, Mallory Michel (Stephen), Josh Ireland, and Kegan Ireland. Jim leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Jacob Cornelius, Jonathon Cornelius, Cora Michel, Audra Michel, Della Michel, and Kehlan Ireland and six great-great-grandchildren.

James will be fondly remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for the outdoors, and the love he shared with those closest to him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched the lives of many with his kindness and warmth.

Funeral services will be on Friday May 31, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until service time.

Natalie Kay Courts

Natalie Kay Courts, 68, of Kokomo, IN, passed away May 25, 2024. She was born on July 7, 1955, in Kokomo, IN, the daughter of Donald Eugene Cardwell and Nancy Cardwell (Tomlinson).

On January 29, 1982, she married Rick Courts who survives. Natalie loved bowling, watching the Cubs, spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, and playing cards with her friends at church. She was a member of the Brookside Free Methodist church in Kokomo, IN.

Surviving relatives include her husband Rick Courts of Kokomo, IN; son, Jacob Courts of Kokomo, IN; four granddaughters, Alexia, Maria, Olivia and Karrina Courts all of Kokomo, IN; grandson, Archer Courts; brother, Darrell Cardwell (Laura); step-mother, Dorothy Rapp; step-brother, Mike Presley; brothers-in-law, Ron Courts (Jill); Jim Courts (Liz); sister-in-law, Susan Larrison; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brother-in-law, father-in-law and mother-in-law.
