Cynthia Ann ‘Cindy’ Sanders, 69, died 8:30 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born November 18, 1954, in Kokomo, the daughter of Donald and Alice (Brownlee) Buckalew. On June 12, 1981, in Kokomo, she married Jackie Joe (Jack) Sanders, who preceded her in death.
Cindy was a 1978 graduate of Indiana University Kokomo School of Nursing. Cindy’s life greatly changed on July 1, 1980, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a woman of great joy and faith; through the many challenges she faced she always carried the peace of God with her. She was the loving wife to her husband Jack, serving him with care and enthusiasm. By her example, her prayers, and her love, Jack also came to faith in Jesus Christ, along with much of her family. Jack and Cindy always wanted to be together, showing the love of Christ to everyone they met. She was a caring mother with a servant’s spirit who loved to pray. She was a faithful member of the Kokomo Christian Fellowship. She was also active in the Club Kokomo Roadrunners, Relay for Life, Race for the Cure, and numerous other organizations.
