George Robert “Bob” Jarrett Jr.
George Robert “Bob” Jarrett Jr., 78, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his home in Greentown. He was born on September 26, 1946, in Kokomo, the son of George Robert Jarrett Sr. and Ilean (Sanders) Hawkins. He married Rebecca (Knote) Jarrett in Las Vegas, NV, and she survives.
Bob resided in Russiaville with his sister Judy and her husband Ed Martin from the sixth grade until he graduated from Western High School in 1965. While Bob attended Ball State University where he played football, he also worked at Chrysler in Kokomo. He graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Bob enjoyed training and riding horses and driving race cars at local dirt tracks in Indiana. Bob taught school in Indianapolis public schools for two years. He then taught at Western High School before going to Clinton Central High School as the head football and wrestling coach for two years. He then returned to Western High School where he taught and coached wrestling. After leaving Western he was an Administrator at the Kokomo Area Career Center for several years before retiring from teaching. Bob had a very successful 22-year career as a wrestling coach at Western High School where the team won 17 Mid-Indiana Conference championships, 13 sectionals, six regionals, and one semistate. He sent wrestlers to the state finals for 54 appearances where three athletes claimed state titles. Bob came out of retirement to become the head wrestling coach at Eastern High School for several years where he again had multiple state qualifiers as well as another state champion. He was inducted into the Howard County Sports Hall of Fame class of 2010, and into the Indiana Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame on Feb. 21, 1993.
Along with his wife, Rebecca Jarrett, Bob is survived by his children, Kelly (Rita Richardson) Jarrett of Greentown, Kim (Travis) Dekoker of Waldron, and George “Bobber” (Mandy) Jarrett of Indianapolis; step sons, Craig (Tammy) Pence of Greentown, and Chris Pence of Tulsa, OK; mother of his children, Susan Kanable; grandchildren, Amelia Moe, Sophia Moe, Rowan Jarrett, Greylan Jarrett, Zack Pence, Blake Pence, Lyndsi Pence, Andrew Pence, and Amber Arena; and great grandchildren, Kadence Osbourne, Brantley Pence, Ryker Pence, Julian Parton, Quinlen Pence, and Torren Pence.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George Jarrett Sr. and Ilean Hawkins; brother, Ronald Jarrett; and sister, Judy Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street Russiaville, with Pastor Dave Woods officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the funeral home following the service. Dylan Thomas Padgett
Dylan Thomas Padgett, 32, of Brownsburg, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his home. He was born in Frankfort, IN, on February 6, 1992, the son of Thomas “Byron” Padgett and Jody (Coleman) Padgett.
Dylan was a 2010 graduate of Clinton Central High School. He graduated from Manchester University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and a minor in Business Administration. He was a gifted athlete which showed in his baseball career in high school and college. In Dylan’s senior year of high school, the football team won the sectional and regional championships. A highlight of his college career was reaching the Division III College World Series. He made several friendships and relationships while at Manchester University that were dear to him. Dylan was currently employed by the State of Indiana as a Security Analyst in the Indiana Office of Technology. He began working there in 2015 as an intern. He cherished the close friendships with the people he worked with at the I.O.T. His favorite pastimes were playing golf, hunting, shooting guns, and playing video games.
Dylan is survived by his mom, Jody Padgett; brother, Logan Padgett; grandma, Nancy Padgett; aunt, Janet Moeller; uncle, Brooks (Irma) Padgett; and cousin, William (Jen) Moeller.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Byron Padgett; grandparents, Thomas Burl Padgett, Conrad and Carol Coleman; and aunt, Robin Padgett.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. Graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Paul Cemetery near Forest, IN, with Pastor Karl Kercheval officiating. Gary Lee Baitz
Gary Lee Baitz, age 78, of Windfall, passed away at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana, on Monday, October 21, 2024. He was born in Tipton, Indiana, on June 15, 1946, to his parents, Robert Gaitz and Louise (Brehm) Webb.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Hamilton Heights High School. He spent his life doing the work he loved as a farmer. Gary enjoyed fishing and loved classic cars.
Gary was a hard-working man that walked to the beat of his own drum. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke. He was a very loyal friend that naturally drew others to him. Gary never tried to be anyone other than his true self; he was unapologetically himself.
Those left to carry on Gary’s legacy of love are his children, Courtney Baitz, Dustin Baitz; grandchildren, Parker Cox; and loyal friends that were like family, Duane (Roxanne) Nation, Tyler Nation, and Kayden Nation.
Gary was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Robert Baitz and Louise Webb; and six siblings.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Gary on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Committal will take place at Brookside Cemetery.

Audrey Woodard, age 91, of Galveston, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Private services for Audrey will be held at a later date.
