Patricia Arlene (Palmer) Shirley
Patricia Arlene (Palmer) Shirley, 76, of Kokomo, was gathered into the arms of Jesus at 12:15 p.m., April 6, 2025, at her home. She was born on November 21, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late George and Bernice (Adkins) Palmer. On July 29, 1972, in Indianapolis, she married Dr. Michael A. Shirley, and he survives.
Pat was a 1966 graduate of Arlington High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Purdue University in 1971. She taught first grade at Lyons Elementary School for one year. Pat worked in administration at Indiana University, Bloomington, from 1972 to 1974. She then worked at the regional office of McDonalds Corporation in Indianapolis from 1974–1977. After her daughters were raised, she worked part-time as an associate at Northwest Internal Medicine, her husband’s medical office.
Pat was active in the Psalms Bible Study from 1980-2024, and at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she was a mentor and friend to many. She also was a member of the PEO and of Tri Kappa. Pat assisted with the Kokomo Great Banquet and helped with Meals on Wheels and Birthright. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her daughters and granddaughter in Florida and at the lake.
Along with her husband Dr. Michael Shirley, Pat is survived by her daughters Michelle (Art) Reed and Diane (fiancé Shannon Anthony) Shirley, grandchildren Taylor Reed and London Anthony, and special friends from the Purple Group and Psalms Bible Study, the Purdue Group, and the Pool Rats from Bonita Springs, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Bonnie G. (Badgley) Alley
Bonnie G. (Badgley) Alley, age 68, entered this world in Tipton on October 28, 1956. She was the loving daughter of Cleo “Pete” & Gretchen (Green) Badgley. Bonnie passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at her home in Tipton surrounded by her family. She married John Alley on May 19, 2007, and he survives to cherish her memory.
Bonnie spent her career working for the Indiana Division of Family Resources, retiring as an Administrative Assistant in 2022 after 40 years of service and helping many families in their time of trouble. She was a graduate of Tipton High School in the Class of 1975. Bonnie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tipton. She enjoyed crafting, watching her son Andy clogging, and taking golf cart rides. Bonnie was very good at baking Angel Food cakes.
She spent a lot of time watching grandkids in their sporting events. Bonnie always tried to help others by posting inspirational posts on social media. She loved to plant flowers, bird watching with John, and spending time with her dog, JJ.
Survivors besides her husband John include her children Andy Schwierman (Nico) of West Hollywood, California, Josh Alley (Amy) of Bloomington, and Jena Welker (Steve) of Greencastle. Bonnie also has four grandchildren Jarrin and Ella Alley, Peyton Welker (Arrysohn), and Parker Welker.
Bonnie’s funeral will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, with Pastor Phil Votaw presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00- 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. She will be buried at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

Phyllis J. Gibson
Phyllis J. Gibson, 87, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully at her home at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born December 18, 1937, in Windfall, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Kathryn (Gray) Morrison. On March 30, 1957, she married Daniel M. Gibson, who preceded her in death on June 19, 2022.
A 1955 graduate of Windfall High School, Phyllis went on to build a dedicated career at Delco Electronics, where she worked for 26 years before retiring. Phyllis was a member of the Gold Wing Riders and a former member of Faith United Methodist Church. She found joy in bowling, reading, working puzzles, and crocheting—pastimes that brought her comfort and connection throughout her life.
She is survived by her children Pamela (Seamus) Hawkins, Jeffrey (Kelly) Gibson, Joseph (Maggie) Gibson, and James Gibson, grandchildren Shayla (Jon) Caddell, Brendan Hawkins, Jordyn (Ryan) Aeschliman, Amber Gibson, Adam Gibson, Daniel (Alexcia) Gibson, Levi Gibson, Jonah Gibson, Kristyn Bitner, Morgan Knox, Molly Bitner, Chad (Brenna) Ort, Eric Johnston, Kelly Elliott, Brett (Amber) Johnston, and Suzanne (Justin) Bachman, along with 16 great-grandchildren, and siblings Marilyn Mouser, Leona (Danny) McCool, and Teddy Lee (Edith) Morrison.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Bobbie Asher, former husband Robert Asher, daughter-in-law Lora Gibson, and eight siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Rev. Dr. Robb Roloff officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial will take place at a later date in Albright Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’s memory to the Lora Sottong Gibson Memorial Nursing Scholarship through the Tipton County Foundation or to St. Jude Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
Victory Lynn Hogan
Victory Lynn Hogan, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away April 4, 2025. She was born on December 6, 1943, in Republic, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Raymond and Arlena (Davis) Grooms. She was an assembler at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1998 after 31 years of service.
Victory was a member of New Bethel Tabernacle/ Everlasting Dominion Fellowship/Impact Life Church where she served faithfully as a prayer warrior, on the Usher Board, in Bible study, and as financial administrator. She was a member of UAW Local #292. She loved doing all kinds of things, and her favorite was spending money. She also liked to crochet, do crafts, decorate, and attending church.
She is survived by her daughter Shannon Rivers, son James Pride Jr., five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one more on the way, brothers Ronald (Mary) Grooms, Carver (Rita) Grooms, and Larry (Lois) Cash, and sisters Linda Thorpe and Sharon Waldington.
Victory was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Emma Turpan, Betty White, Ann McWilliams, Veverly McGee, Edward Grooms, Ralph Grooms, Robert Grooms, Eugene Grooms, and Arlene Mason, and best friend Janice Warren.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Butch Wittman
Butch Wittman, 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Greentown, Indiana, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 4:05 p.m., surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 5, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Donald Sr. and Beverly (Hayden) Pennington. On December 23, 1985, he married the love of his life Nancy Stephenson, in Folkston, Georgia, and she survives.
A 1977 graduate of Eastern High School, Butch went on to dedicate 31 years of service to Chrysler Corporation and was a proud member of UAW Local #685. Butch was a devoted family man who cherished time with his loved ones. Known for his quick wit and kind heart, Butch brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. He was an avid fan of football and NASCAR—especially the Green Bay Packers and racing legend Richard Petty. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, bonfires, drawing, and watching Jeopardy and classic television shows like Andy Griffith and Gomer Pyle. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
Along with his wife Nancy, he is also survived by his children Ashley (Collyn) Ruby, Brandon (Cassie) Wittman, and Zach Ruby, grandchildren Peyton Ruby, Emmett Ruby, Raelynn Breed, Asher Hults, and Arlo Hults, siblings Jeff (Gina) Wittman and Greg Wittman, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved fur babies Brutus and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kim Benjamin, and best friend Big Dan Vallosia.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice and Chaplain Adam for their compassionate care during Butch’s final days.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Crossroads Community Church, Downtown Kokomo Campus, 116 N. Main Street, Kokomo, with Pastor Brian White officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Butch’s memory to Guardian Angel Hospice. Ronald G. Reynolds
Ronald G. Reynolds, 76, of Tipton, died Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born in Gary, Indiana, on September 8, 1948, to Theodore and Bernice (Spack) Reynolds. Ronald married his sweetheart, Barbara Lois McClure on March 1, 1969, spending 54 years in matrimony until her death in 2023.
Ron was a Tool and Die maker, working for more than 30 years at Steel Parts Manufacturing in Tipton. He was member of the Crown Point Masonic Lodge #150, the Scottish Rite, and Shriners. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited. Ron spent considerable time watching the NHRA drag racing events through the summer racing season. He was thrilled when the Christmas season arrived as he played Santa at multiple events for 25 years, watching the children glow with excitement.
Survivors include his son Michael Reynolds and wife Desiree of Walton, a grandson Wyatt Reynolds, and a sister Debbie Bush and husband Bob in Crown Point. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and a son Ron Reynolds, Jr.
