Nicholas Steven Kordsiemon Sr.
Nicholas Steven Kordsiemon Sr., known to all as Nick, left a legacy of love, laughter, and heroism when he passed away on April 15, 2025, in Kokomo, Indiana. Born on October 4, 1969, in Tucson, Arizona, Nick's infectious smile and indomitable spirit were a beacon of light to all who knew him.
The son of William and Jacqueline Kordsiemon, Nick was a pillar of strength and a source of unfettered joy within his family. Though his father William preceded him in passing, his mother, now Jacqueline Marshall, cherishes the memory of her son's larger-than-life presence. For 29 years, Nick was the beloved husband of Elisa, a union marked by shared dreams and unwavering partnership. Together they raised a fine son, Nicholas Kordsiemon II, who carries on his father's name and compassionate spirit.
Nick's love extended to his siblings—Lara Vitale (Joseph) and Kandi LeBlanc-Hall— that also included his adoring nieces and nephews. They will remember him as the uncle who could spin the simplest moments into golden memories.
A proud graduate of Washington High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Nick imbued his class of 1988 with school spirit and inspired his classmates to pursue their passions with courage. What those classrooms started, Nick took into every aspect of his life.
Nick's work life was not just a job; it was a calling—a testament to his bravery and the depth of his compassion. This remarkable man dedicated his career to saving lives, working with Southwest Ambulance, Black Canyon City Fire Department, Avondale Fire Department, Harquahala Fire District, and PHI Air Medical. His colleagues across these noble institutions knew Nick to be the cornerstone of teamwork, the one who would rush headlong into danger to save a stranger, and the one who would have a comforting joke ready when the sirens fell silent.
While some paint canvases or write symphonies, Nick's art was his service to others—a living testament to his boundless love. His was a life steeped in the unshakeable conviction that every single day offered a new opportunity to touch a life, to heal a wound, to ignite hope where there was none. Nick's heart knew no bounds, and the ripple effect of his deeds will continue to flow through the countless lives he touched.
Loving, funny, and courageous—these words illuminate the core of Nick's being. His laughter was the music that underscored a life lived in full, joyous technicolor. His courage was the silent promise that no matter how dark the night, morning would come. And his love—oh, his love was the kind that reshaped worlds and healed hearts.
Your love and your legacy will live on, always. Today, as we look to the sky, let us think of Nick—of his unyielding courage, his rollicking humor, his love that knew no end. He has inspired us to embrace life with full hearts, to laugh loudly, to act fearlessly, and to cherish each moment with the fervor of a soul truly alive. Let his memory galvanize us to continue the work of heroes like him, to fill the gaps he has left behind with acts of kindness and compassion. Nick Kordsiemon Sr., the world is undeniably brighter for having had you in it. Your spirit, your love, and your legacy will live on, always.
