Carol was a sweet spirit whose kindness touched everyone she met. She loved her cats, her plants, and her many adventures, especially traveling to the mountains of Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Carol cherished the memories of her recent girls’ trips to visit Yellowstone, Glacier, and Grand Teton National Parks.
Carol was very strong and steady in her faith and was a proud member of the Vineyard Church in Tipton for many years. She was never able to have children of her own, which made her nieces and nephews all the more precious to her. Carol was a proud aunt! David B. Quigley
David B. Quigley, 78, Tipton, passed peacefully on October 20, 2025. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on February 10, 1947, to Richard B. and Anna (Kinder) Quigley. David was a 1965 graduate of Tipton High School and a 1969 graduate of Indiana University - Bloomington. He graduated from the IU Robert H. Kinney School of Law in 1974, where he attended at night while he worked as Head of Research for the Indiana Department of Revenue. He joined the law firm of Holmes and Pearce in 1974 and became a sole practitioner in 1984. As an attorney, Quigley was proud of achieving an AV ranking. It is the highest level of professional excellence based upon peer review ratings in both legal ability and ethical standards. His son Matthew joined him in his practice in 2001. After 39½ years in law practice, he retired in 2013. David served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1970 – 1976.
David loved to coach. While in college he coached the ATO Little 500 bicycle team to victory. He also was a Pee Wee, minor, Little League, soccer, and youth basketball coach for each of his four sons. Many of the young athletes he coached still fondly recall Dave’s fair but disciplined approach.
David was very principled and passionate about his community which he served in various ways. He was a delegate to the Indiana State Convention, past president of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of the Tipton Economic Development Corporation, attorney for the City of Tipton and TMU for more than 20 years, and a member of the Sheriff’s Merit Board. He also served as deputy prosecutor and school board member of which he was president for two years.
David was a giant of a man both physically, at 6’6”, and the way he lived his life. He loved taking memorable vacations with his family which included great food, deep sea fishing, and golf. He loved watching his sons grow up playing basketball, baseball, and golf. His boys remember him as firm, but gentle and loving, and fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, working in his yard, cooking, reading, and playing golf. He cherished spending time with his wife, his four boys, and his 11 grandkids. He often advised each of them in their respective sports or on life in general. He instilled confidence in those with whom he spoke and always believed a person could reach their full potential.
He was a mainstay at the Tipton Municipal Golf Course and was the 1993 match play golf champion and 2010 senior match champion. He was proud to have recorded six holes in one. In catching up with family and friends, David loved a nice pinot noir, good conversation, great food, and displayed a repartee with those close to him. He was an avid IU fan and especially passionate about the IU football program the last two years. He often recalled the Rose Bowl he and his friends attended in 1968 and believed IU was back on the right track under Coach Cignetti.
David is survived by his best friend and wife Lois, of 54 years, and their four sons Matthew (Stephanie) of Tipton, Daniel of Westfield, John (Kristen) of Zionsville, and Richard (Julie) of Noblesville.
