Beverly Ann “Bev” (Pore) Wagoner
Beverly Ann “Bev” (Pore) Wagoner, 90, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in the same town where her life began. She was born on September 16, 1935, in Tipton to her mother Emily Coats.
Bev was a proud graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1952. On July 18, 1959, she married the love of her life Cleties Wagoner. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and quiet acts of service. Cleties preceded her in death in February of 2017, but the love they shared remained a lasting part of her story.
For more than 40 years, Bev and her husband faithfully served as caretakers of First Christian Church in Rochester, Indiana. It was more than a role. It was a reflection of her servant’s heart and deep devotion to her church family. She was also a familiar and friendly face in the cafeteria at Rochester High School, where she cared for others in the simple, meaningful ways she knew best.
Bev found her greatest joy in the beauty of everyday life. She loved being outdoors, tending to her flower gardens and her large vegetable garden, both of which she cared for with pride and dedication. She had a special place in her heart for animals, often taking in strays and giving them the love and care they needed. Her beloved kitty Freddy was a constant companion and a source of comfort.
She enjoyed spending her time browsing yard sales and attending local festivals, simple pleasures that brought her happiness. Above all, Bev cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and held close to her heart.
Bev will be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, balanced by a spunky personality and a quiet strength. She had a way of making others feel cared for, but she wasn’t afraid to “lay down the law” when needed, a trait that made her both beloved and respected.
Her life was a testament to love, service, and finding joy in the little things. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and unwavering care for those around her.
Those left to carry on her legacy of love are her children Brenda (Steve) Crawford and Cindy McCartney; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers Frank (Carol) Pore and Richard Pore; and daughter-in-law Kelly Wagoner, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bev was welcomed into heaven by her mother Emily & Wiley Coats; husband Cleties Wagoner; son Bill Wagoner; and brothers John Pore and Jim Pore.
A funeral service celebrating Bev’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Visitation for family & friends will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Leiters IOOF Cemetery, located at 7778 W. Olsen Road in Rochester, Indiana.
Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve Bev’s family in their time of need.
“A life well lived is a garden well-tended, her love will continue to bloom in all who knew her.”
Tammy Jean Mathews
Tammy Jean Mathews, 65, of Kokomo passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 7:55 p.m. at Ascension Seton Facility. Tammy succumbed to health complications and passed peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born Tammy Jean Pierson on August 1, 1960, to William Riley and Leona Jean Pierson in Kokomo. She was selfless with a servant’s heart from a young age. As a teenager, she helped care for her ill mother. She was a mentor in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, and she enjoyed participating in the Explorers Club.
Tammy graduated from Northwestern High School in 1978. After high school, Tammy got married and had two beautiful children Travis and Crystal, whom she loved dearly and would do anything for. Her selfless, caring spirit then led her to go obtain her nursing degree from Indiana University of Kokomo, graduating in 1993. She worked at Howard Community Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Clinton County Hospital, and various other hospitals as she was a traveling agency nurse toward the end of her career. Her first marriage ended in 1998, and she later met and married the love of her life Keith Mathews on August 30, 2004.
After more than 20 years as an RN specializing in obstetrics, Tammy retired early. She truly enjoyed her part in helping to bring many lives into this world and helping to care for patients. After she and Keith were both retired, they lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends experiencing all that life has to offer by traveling, sailing, shopping, and motorcycle riding.
She was an adventurous soul; she and Keith even rode their motorcycles through Alaska and back to Kokomo. She also really enjoyed trying a multitude of experiences such as “Murder Mystery” trains, escape rooms, dinner musicals, and costume dinner parties.
Tammy was a kind, caring, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world. She took pride in being at every birthday celebration, school event, and sporting event. She and Keith would take the kids to enjoy different experiences, such as “The Polar Express” train ride, baseball games, seeing Santa or the Easter Bunny, musicals, Disney on Ice, and much more. She wanted nothing more than for her grandchildren to enjoy life and have memories with their mamaw and papaw.
