David Owen Oldaker
David Owen Oldaker, 73, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away April 9, 2026. He was born on April 1, 1953, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Virgil Aretius and Catherine L. (Helsley) Oldaker.
David graduated From Northwestern High School in 1971. David worked at Milbank Manufacturing in Kokomo, Indiana, where he was given the nickname, “Foot.”
On July 12, 1975, David married Debbie Collins, the love of his life, who preceded him in death. David and Debbie had two children Matt (wife Holly) and Rachal; as well as four grandchildren Siera (Nathan Robertson), Gage (Annabelle Hughes), Aidan (Carly Stepler), and Hattie; and a great-grandson Aryan Singh, and they survive. Also surviving are a sister Lori Henninge and brother-in-law Jerry Fortune as well as several loved nieces and nephews.
Dave enjoyed watching football, watching MeTV, fishing, and spending time with his family. Dave was a Michigan Wolverines and Indianapolis Colts football fan. He looked forward to the beginning of the football season so he could cheer his teams on or share colorful commentary to get them back on track. Dave also enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show, M.A.S.H., Carol Burnett and Friends, and Svengoolie on MeTv. He was happiest when spending time with his family. His greatest joy was watching his grandkids and great-grandson grow up. He was so proud of them.
David will be remembered for his perseverance, sense of humor, and the love he showed his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Debra; sisters Marcia Nichols and Cathy Steely; brother Tim Oldaker; sisters-in-law Diana Wray and Donna Fortune; and brother-in-law Clinton Wray.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center. Jack DeVault
Jack C. DeVault, 77, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at IU Health Fishers Hospital after an extended illness.
Jack was born on July 15, 1948, in Elwood, IN, to Richard and Waneta (Woodruff) DeVault. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1967 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Jack worked as a millwright for BorgWarner and Chrysler, retiring in 2014.
On September 30, 1989, he married Susan Norrick, and together they made their home in Tipton.
Jack was very active and helpful with his wife’s antique business. He was 50-year member of the American Legion, Austin Lodge #128 F&AM since 1981, where he served as past master as well as Valley of Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and UAW Local #685.
He is survived by his wife Susan DeVault of Tipton; two daughters Deena Dodd and Amy Vandergriff; grandson Brayden Vandergriff; granddaughter Courtney Greeson (Nick); great-grandson Colson Greeson; sister Lynn Ann Bourff (Jerry), sister-in-law Cheryl McKinley (Mike), and his niece Denise Price (Andy).
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Waneta.
Funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at 7 p.m. on April 15, 2026, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson St., Tipton, with Brian Waters officiating.

Franklin “Frank” L. Zody
Franklin “Frank” L. Zody, 90, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, early Friday morning, April 10, 2026, at his home. Frank was born May 27, 1935, in Peru, Indiana, to Harry and Mary (Cain) Zody. He married the love of his life Roselyn “Joyce” Dye on March 11, 1956, in the Loree Brethren Church, and she survives.
Frank was a lifelong farmer. He started helping on the Miller family farm who were close neighbors when he was just nine years old. Frank continued farming with his son Mark for the rest of his life. He enjoyed tinkering around in the shop and working on old trucks and tractors in his spare time. Frank and Joyce are still members of the Loree Brethren Church near Bunker Hill.
Surviving family include his wife Joyce of 70 years, his children Mark and wife Susan Zody of Kokomo and Kim and husband Alvin Miller of Bunker Hill. Surviving grandchildren include Sarah (Steven) Sherwood, Zach (Dessa) Miller, Jacob Zody, and Lexi (Tyler) Miller. Frank was the proud great grandpa of Josiah, Abigail, Isabella, and Isaiah Sherwood. He is also survived by siblings Margaret Hinkle, Rex Zody, Irene Ruhl, Carl “Butch” Zody, and Joe Zody. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Glen Zody, Elzena Wagoner, Wayne Zody, Sue Squires, and Gary Zody.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will follow on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. with pastors Norm Snyder and David Lantz officiating. Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery. Kristina A. (Heavilin) Washington
Kristina A. (Heavilin) Washington of Anderson went to Heaven on April 12, 2026. She was born to A. Waine and Carneta (Teter) Heavilin on December 5, 1938, in Kokomo, IN.
Kristina was a graduate of Kokomo High School (1956) and of Indiana Business College (1957). She met Richard Washington while working at Crescent Dairy (Kokomo) in high school. They married on May 4, 1958, and moved to Anderson in 1968, when Richard transferred to Guide Lamp.
A lifelong Quaker, she was active in the Friends church and was a year hospice volunteer until her MS interfered. Kristina was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother who also helped care for her grandchildren. A devotee of Jeopardy (often knowing the answers), she also enjoyed reading, crosswords, Wheel of Fortune, baking, and sewing. She won state fair prizes as a member of Morning Star Smocking club.
Kristina is survived by her son and caregiver Gregory Washington; daughter Teresa Dowers; sons Douglas (Christine) Washington and Matthew (Marlena) Washington; grandchildren Paul, Emily, Mark, Jessica, and Kenneth Washington, Kristina Jones, Stephen (Alexandra) Dowers, Samantha Brown, and Cameron Vest; great-grandchildren, Richard Jones, Keeleigh and Jayce Patton, Courtney Jr., I’Zaiah, and Kashton Conner, and Skylar Dowers; and sister-in-law Teresa Heavilin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Bruce and Stephen Heavilin; son-in-law Jeff Dowers; sister-in-law Rebecca Heavilin; infant granddaughter Sarah Dowers, and best friend Lynn Kennard.

Dagna Lynn Wainwright-Lowe-Helvig
Dagna Lynn Wainwright-Lowe-Helvig, 76, Kokomo, passed away at 11:17 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent, Kokomo. She was born February 20, 1950, in Kokomo to James and Beverly (Anthony) Smith. On February 20, 2014, she married Jim Helvig, who survives.
Dagna served the City of Kokomo for 44 years at the senior citizens center. She loved traveling with her husband and son and family, including trips to Florida and cruises. In addition to spending time with family, she also enjoyed golfing and played on leagues over the years. Most of all, she cherished her family and was a loving wife, mom, and the perfect nana and great-nana.
She is survived by her husband Jim Helvig; son Chuck (Missy) Wainwright, step-children Terri (Brian) Piel, Linda (Brent) Whitesell, and Lori (Mike) Dennis; daughter-in-law Kelly Wainwright; grandchildren Jamie Watson, Michael Burton, Brooke Brown, Kaitlyn Wainwright, Brookelyn Williams, Nicholas Wainwright, Nikki Kizer, Ashleigh Wainwright, Garth McClain, Autumn Piel, Coery Piel, Kristin McFadden, Seth Whitesell, Lela Whitesell, Blake Hinkle, and Shelby Overdorf; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers Chris (Debbie) Riffe and Dan (Kim) Smith; sisters Earlene (Chris) Cooper and Trisha (Rick) Roberts; and brother-in-law Dave Hardacre.
She was preceded in death by her father James Smith; mother Beverly (Earl) Riffe; son Chris Wainwright; husband Jack Lowe; great-grandson Liam Brown; sister Debbie Hardacre; and her beloved dog Lucy.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery where her daughter-in-law Missy will give a musical tribute. Rev. Michael Carson will officiate. Ronald R. “Ron” Russell
Ronald R. “Ron” Russell, 77, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord early Monday, April 13, 2026, at Northwoods Village Nursing Home in Kokomo. He was born September 9, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ronald J. and Mary Louise (Frusher) Russell. Ron married the love of his life Constance “Connie” Sue Royer on August 26, 1967, in Richmond, Indiana, and she survives. They would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this coming August.
Ron graduated from Richmond High School and later Porter Business College. He worked at several jobs during his career, starting with Nobil Shoe Co. in Richmond. He later worked for Endicott Johnson, Prudential Insurance Co. Auto Zone, and retired from Coca-Cola in Kokomo. Ron loved the Lord with all of his heart and served as Elder in his church, Judson Road Christian Church in Kokomo. He enjoyed playing sports in his church leagues, including basketball, football, softball, and dart ball. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving family include his wife Connie Russell of Galveston; his two daughters Shelley Park and Christin (Greg) Claxton and his grandsons Nicholas and Liam Park. Ron is also survived by his brothers-in-law Keith (Joan) Royer and Kurt Royer and sisters-in-law Kim Pierce and Kelly Royer. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gale and Steve Russell, brothers-in-law Kenny and Kris Royer, sister-in-law Karen Lawson, and son-in-law Jim Park.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to begin after visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Carpenter officiating.

Betty Louise Belshaw
Betty Louise Belshaw, 94, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at Copper Trace Senior Living in Westfield. Born on September 23, 1931, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she lived an active life.
Betty graduated from Port Clinton High School and worked for several years as a secretary/bookkeeper. She was employed at the Fostoria Country Club in Ohio. After moving to Kokomo, Indiana, she served as an executive secretary for Continental Steel. Later in life, she transitioned to retail sales, where she showcased her talents as a skilled seamstress. She created several formal dresses for her daughters and sewed for her grandchildren. Betty was also known for her beautiful quilts and Christmas stockings.
Golf became another passion for her later in life. She joined her husband on the golf course well into her 80s and was a member of the Toledo Golf Association. She participated in local and state golf tournaments, winning a few of those events. Betty was a member of the country clubs in both Fostoria, Ohio, and Kokomo, Indiana.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years John William Belshaw II; her parents Isabelle and Edward Lorensen; her brother Bob Lorensen; her sister Marion Brunow; and her daughter Pamela Brown. She is survived by her son John Belshaw III (Jackie Henry); her daughter Nan Scimia (Joseph Scimia); and her son-in-law Melvin Brown. Her grandchildren include Amy Stultz (Dave Stultz), Anne Staley (Cory Simpson), Jennifer Barry (Stacy Barry), Matthew Brown (Karli Brown), and Allyssa Stevens (Zachary Stevens). Her great-grandchildren are Alex Stultz, Abby Spanbauer (Zackery Spanbauer), Dylan Stultz, Amelia Staley, Adalyn Brown, Cora Brown, Wyatt Barry, Carter Stevens, and Rylie Stevens, along with her great-great-grandchild Audra Stultz.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church for her family. Donations can be made to St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 1402 West Main Street, Carmel, Indiana, 46032.
Betty will be remembered as a loving wife and a devoted caregiver to her family.
