Earlene Sue Cox
Earlene Sue Cox, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born February 11, 1942, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Earl Wayne & Ruby Ilene (Stoner) Fowler. On June 8, 1963, in Kokomo, she married Warren Edward Cox, who preceded her in death on September 7, 1998.
Sue was a 1960 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. She had previously worked in insurance for Dr. Pacelli and Dr. Higgins. Sue worked for Northwestern School Corporation as a cook in the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and was a collector of owls, baskets, and Boyd Bears. She loved decorating and gathering with family and friends for the Christmas holiday, which was her favorite holiday.
Sue is survived by her children Mason (Lisa) Cox and Shannon (Jeff) Smart; grandchildren Cameron Warren Kirsch and Riley Jo Kirsch; siblings Rex (Roseanne) Fowler and BethAnne (Mark) Allion; and brother-in-law Bill Anderson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband Warren; and sisters Maryellen Anderson and Diana (Dick) Culbertson
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, in Normanda Cemetery. A lunch will be provided by Grace United Methodist Church following the graveside service, 219 W. Mulberry Street, Kokomo. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Cemetery has been entrusted with arrangements.
Raymond Wesley Thompson
Raymond Wesley Thompson, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 9:22 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Primrose. He was born August 1, 1936, to the late David H. and Regina May (Peek) Thompson. On April 9, 1960, he married Carol K. Walls, and she survives.
Raymond graduated from Kokomo High School in 1955 and attended Indiana University. He worked as a pipe fitter for Chrysler and retired after 37 years of service. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Naphtali Lodge, the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Marine Corps League, a life member of the American Legion, and the Kokomo Ballroom Dance Club. He enjoyed playing practical jokes, fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Along with his wife Carol Thompson, Raymond is survived by his nieces and nephews Michael Thompson, Shari Monroe, and Debra Daugherty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Thompson, and brother Sherman Thompson.
A funeral service celebrating Raymond’s life will begin at 2 p.m. with Masonic Rites on Monday April 20, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Chaplain (name) officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps. and Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Janet Sue “James” Quirk
Janet Sue “James” Quirk, 88, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. She was born on August 18, 1937, to Florence and Robert James.
Janet was a kind and loving soul whose life was centered around family. She found great joy in caring for others, especially the many children she babysat over the years, who came to love her as a grandmother. Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched countless lives, creating lasting bonds that extended far beyond her immediate family. She also dedicated many years of service, working at Delco, where she retired from. She married her beloved husband PD Quirk, on August 20, 1970. Together, they celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage.
Janet is lovingly remembered by her daughter Wendy Cole; her grandchildren Brittany and Zeth Lewis, Sara and Brendan Lewis, Jessica and Nathan Seagrave, Joshua and Kelly Taylor, Cody McCombs, and Steven and Donal McCombs; her sisters-in-law Myrtle James, Martha Quirk, Louise Glaze, Patty Quirk, and Shirley Quirk; and her brothers-in-law Wayne Quirk and Martin Quirk. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews; her special chosen family Michelle and Jackson; and her sweet companion Noodles. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her great-grandchildren Shayleigh, Zaiden, Carter, Iris, Nova, Braeden, and Zoe-Jane “Bumblebee,” who will carry forward the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents Florence and Robert James; her stepmother Jean James; her brother Robert James Jr.; her sister Beverly McCombs; her beloved husband P.D.; her son-in-law Scott Cole; her nephew Steve McCombs; her niece Lori Morris; and several in-laws.
Janet lived a full and meaningful life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral service celebrating Janet’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN. Burial in Sharpsville Cemetery to follow. Kyle Logan Johnston
Kyle Logan Johnston, 32, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2026. Born on November 17, 1993, Kyle was a son, a father, a brother, and a steady presence to those who were lucky enough to be welcomed into his life.
Kyle graduated from Kokomo High School. He moved through the world with an open heart—someone who never knew a stranger, and who seemed to always have something kind to offer.
He was obsessed with shoes and loved adding another pair to his collection. He found comfort in all kinds of music, and he could unwind with a game of pool. More than anything, he treasured spending time with his kids Zaiden and Jaxon, and he loved his dog dearly. Those who knew him will also remember the small, bright details that felt so unmistakably “Kyle”—including his favorite color, purple.
Kyle is survived by his father Timothy Johnston; his sons Zaiden and Jaxon; his sister Britney Fisher (Anecia); and his nephew Jace. He was preceded in death by his mother Lisa Seals; and his grandfathers Ron Seals and Garry Johnston.
His legacy lives on in the kindness he gave so freely, and in the love he poured into his family, especially his boys. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations can be made to the family to help with expenses.
Becky Sue Monday
Becky Sue Monday, 79, of Tipton, was born on February 13, 1947, in Indianapolis to Janet (Hughes) Johnson. Becky passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at The Waters of Tipton. She married Michael Monday on June 6, 1964, and they shared 61 years of marriage.
Becky worked for several years at the Veterans of Foreign Wars office in Indianapolis while helping many veterans. She was a member of the Kempton Christian Church and spent her free time camping with Mike.
Survivors include her husband Mike; one son Chris Monday and wife Adina of Kokomo; and two sisters Carol Frost and Nancy Dunnuck. She also had three grandsons Devin Monday, Dylan Monday, and Logan Monday, as well as one great-granddaughter Lyla Monday. Becky was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Peretti and one sister Peggy Duryee.

Pamela Darlene Copley
Pamela Darlene Copley, known lovingly as Pam, passed away on April 7, 2026, in Muncie, Indiana, at the age of 65. She married Gary Copley Sr. in 1982 in the front yard of her parents’ house in Albany, Indiana. He preceded Pamela in death on August 23, 2022.
Pam was born on January 17, 1961, in Muncie, Indiana, to Eugene and Francis Pence. She grew up in the community she would always call home and carried the values of family, kindness, and hard work throughout her life. A proud graduate of Delta High School, Class of 1979, Pam entered adulthood with a warm spirit and a steady dedication to the people around her.
Throughout her life, Pam was known as a loving, thoughtful, and selfless woman whose presence brought comfort and care to those who knew her. She worked as a cashier for the gas stations in town, where her friendly manner and dependable nature made her a familiar and welcoming face to many. She took pride in her work and in the simple, meaningful connections she made with others each day.
Pam’s greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and treasured every moment shared with them. Her grandchildren Makenna, Maicee, Kassidee, Nick, and Kolten held a very special place in her heart, as did her great-grandchildren Bryce and Holly. She found happiness in the everyday moments of family life and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved most.
She also enjoyed the quiet beauty of life’s small pleasures. Pam loved watching the hummingbirds and cheering for the Colts, interests that reflected her appreciation for both peace and excitement. Her Christian faith was an important part of her life and provided strength, comfort, and guidance through the years.
Pam is survived by her children Gary Copley Jr. and his wife Michelle, and Stephanie Copley (Fiancé Heather); her grandchildren Makenna, Maicee, Kassidee, Nick, and Kolton; her great-grandchildren Bryce and Holly; her siblings Gerry Pence, Ron Pence and his wife Nina, and Sheryl Reed; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Francis Pence; her siblings Jerry Pence; her sister-in-law Sherry Pence; and her nephew Jeremy Pence.
Those who knew Pam will remember her for the love she gave so freely, the thoughtfulness she showed in all things, and the selfless way she cared for others. Her life was a reflection of devotion to family, faith, and community, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Pamela Darlene Copley will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and love will remain an enduring comfort to those she leaves behind.
