Cathy Lou Offutt
Cathy Lou Offutt, 74, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 8:21 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo, Indiana.
She was born on August 29, 1951, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of William Edward and Catherine (Hicks) Featherstone. On March 15, 1997, at the Alto United Methodist Church in Kokomo, Indiana, she married Thomas Offutt, and he survives.
Cathy had been a homemaker. She had been a member of the Old Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, Tipton County, Indiana, and formerly of the Eagles Lodge in Kokomo. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, gardening, and was a passionate animal lover.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Offutt of Peru, Indiana, children Stacy (Paul “Mike”) Parsons of Peru, Indiana, and Brian (Tash) Ege of Peru, Indiana, stepsons Gregory D. Offutt of Georgia and Timothy Scott Offutt of Washington, grandchildren Morgan Dixon of Georgia, Daniel Scott of Wabash, Indiana, Gregory “R.T.” Offutt of Georgia, and Aubrey Troyer of Fulton, Indiana, three great-grandchildren, brother Rick Featherstone of Kokomo, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father William Edward Featherstone, mother Catherine Rust, son David Scott Arredondo, grandson Jordan Lynn Scott, and brother David Featherstone.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Paw Paw Cemetery, Denver, Indiana. Virginia “Ginny” Dempsey
Virginia “Ginny” Dempsey, 93, of Kokomo, formerly of Niles, MI, passed away at 5:54 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at Century Villa Health Care, Greentown, IN. She was born on November 9, 1932, to the late Clifford and Estella (Plumley) Bryum. She married Frank Dempsey on September 15, 1951, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2016.
Ginny worked as a bookkeeper for the family barber supply business for 50 years. She enjoyed being busy with outdoor yard work, following the Indianapolis Colts football, IU basketball, Big 10, and NCAA tournaments. She also enjoyed time together with her siblings Darryl Byrum and Ron Byrum, his frequent phone conversations and wife June’s cookouts with Mike, Sandra and Amy’s family. Ginny looked forward to the beloved girl travel trips with Frank’s family: Barb, Carolyn, Dana, Kathy, Janet, Mary Ellen, and Laurie. She had a special passion to keep looking young and loved her hairdressers.
Ginny is survived by her daughter Donna (John) Werner of Rochester; sons Steve Dempsey of Kokomo and Jack Dempsey of Chicago; precious grandchildren Sarah (Ian) Henisa of Indianapolis, Ryan (Taylor) Wittig of Swampscott, Massachusetts, and Chris (Cory) Wittig of Kailua, Hawaii; very precious great-grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor’s children Neve, Dalton, and Maia Wittig, and Chris and Cory’s children Collin and Cami Wittig.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Frank; parents; brothers; and daughter Karen (Greg) Wittig.
The family would like to give thanks to the caring staff of Century Villa Health Care and crew of Guardian Angel Hospice.
In keeping with Ginny’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ginny’s memory to the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Laura Michelle “Shelly” Brown
Laura Michelle “Shelly” Brown, 51 years old, formerly of Sharpsville, IN, passed away 4:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Homewood Health Nursing Home in Lebanon, IN. She was the daughter of the late Marshall “Al” and Kathy Sue (Teter) Brown.
Shelly was a 1995 graduate of Tri-Central High School. She formerly worked at IMMI as a machine operator. She loved the Lord and was very strong in her faith. She was skilled at arts and crafts. Shelly’s favorite hobbies were cooking, baking, and decorating cakes.
She is survived by her sisters Angie Fenoglio of Westfield, IN, and Beth Brown of Frankfort, IN; nephews Nathaniel McGrath of Frankfort, IN; and friend Debbie Eaton of Kokomo, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service celebrating Shelly’s life is pending at Sharpsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
