Rebecca Love

Rebecca Love, 56, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on May 19, 2026, in the city where she was born and where she spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved most.

Rebecca was born on August 23, 1969, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Johnny and Laura (Fultz) Long, who preceded her in death. She grew up with a kind heart and a gentle spirit that would remain with her throughout her life. Those who knew Rebecca will remember her as a loving, generous, and gentle woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her.

Family was at the center of Rebecca’s life. She was married to Rodney Ray Love on June 19, 1993, and together they shared many meaningful years until his passing on May 8, 2011. Rebecca carried both the joys and sorrows of life with strength and grace, always keeping her family close to her heart. She was a devoted mother to Mary (Shakeon) Williams, Laura (Matias) Sheagley, Johnny Harrington, and Jason (Becky) Love, and she found great happiness in being a grandmother to her 13 grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were among her greatest blessings, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Whether she was offering encouragement, sharing a story, or simply enjoying their company, Rebecca made sure her loved ones knew how deeply they were cherished.

Rebecca was also a beloved sister to Vickie Long and a special brother to Nathaniel Carr, who held a meaningful place in her life. The bonds she shared with her family were strong and enduring, and her love for them was evident in everything she did. She was the kind of person who showed her care through her actions, her patience, and her steady support. Her family could always count on her to be there, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and strength for all who loved her.

Rebecca had a giving heart and spent much of her life caring for others. She was a wonderful caretaker for her family, always willing to help in any way she could and always placing the needs of others before her own. Her compassion extended beyond her home as well, as she worked for Bona Vista with special needs children as a caretaker. In that role, she made a difference in the lives of many children and families through her kindness, dedication, and gentle approach. Her work reflected the very best of who she was, and she served others with patience, respect, and love.

In her free time, Rebecca enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She loved spending time with her children, and especially with her grandbabies, who brought her endless joy. She enjoyed watching anything featuring Shamar Moore, reading short stories, and watching Looney Tunes. She also found enjoyment in playing online games on her phone, which gave her moments of relaxation and fun. These interests were part of the life she built, one filled with warmth, laughter, and the things that made her smile.

Rebecca will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the gentleness she carried in her heart, and the generosity she showed to everyone around her. Her life was a reflection of compassion, devotion, and quiet strength. She touched the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A life so deeply rooted in love leaves behind a lasting legacy, and Rebecca’s memory will be treasured always. Her family and friends will remember her not only for all she did, but for the beautiful way she made others feel. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with deep affection and gratitude.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
