Jamie Renee Glassburn

Jamie Renee Glassburn, 46, of Galveston, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, in her home. She was born on June 9, 1980, the daughter of David and Kathleen (Tilden) McDorman. On November 8, 2002, she married Kenneth Glassburn in Kokomo, IN, and he survives.

Jamie worked in production at Subaru for 10 years. She enjoyed watching movies and traveling, especially to Florida to visit family. Jamie loved her dogs Ozzy and Azia.

Jamie is survived by her husband; children Shelby (Jose) Santana and Nick Glassburn; mother Kathleen McDorman; brother Paul (Amanda) McDorman; mother- and father in-law David & Eugenia Glassburn; brothers-in-law David (Rebecca) Glassburn and Michael (Jodi) Glassburn; sisters-in-law Julie (fiancé, Dave Smith) Meadows and Patricia Steel; nieces and nephews Kaylee McDorman and Jacob McDorman; along with several more nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jamie was preceded in death by her father David McDorman and granddaughter Julianna McDorman.

A funeral service celebrating Jamie’s life will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial in Albright Cemetery will follow. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Clifton Hester

Clifton Hester, 92, joined his beloved bride in Heaven on June 29, 2026. Clifton was born to Walter and Eva Hester on April 11, 1934, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Janet Rose Dowden on December 12, 1953, and had 64 wonderful years together before she passed in 2018.

Clifton grew up during hard times, working with his father, mother and three brothers, traveling through various states to survive, and picking up work. With only an eighth-grade education, he managed to settle down in Kokomo, Indiana, where he met his future wife and raised his family. Anyone who knew him knew that he was a very hard worker as he had more than 30 years at Continental Steel and Penn-Dixie. After the steel mill closed down, receiving a very small pension and with a family to take care of, he found various other jobs, such as custodial work at the old Kmart and Hills department stores to provide income. He also worked at Paul’s Drywall, doing various jobs around the work sites. Clifton enjoyed fishing at various pay pits around the Kokomo area, taking houseboat vacations with his wife, her siblings, and their families. Clifton and Janet were able to travel a little. They enjoyed seeing California, Niagara Falls, and occasional trips back to Arkansas to see his mother. They also spent vacations in Florida with their daughter and son-in-law Angela and Mike, taking rides through lakes on their pontoon boat and spending time with them. They were also able to squeeze in some time in Florida with Jim and Wanda Chorrushi and their family at the beach. Before Janet’s passing, a favorite for them to do was to go on Fridays to various Kokomo restaurants with family and friends. In the last few years, his favorite was to get biscuits and gravy at Hardee’s or the baked tenderloin every Thursday at Ray’s Drive-In.

Clifton is survived by one brother Cleo Hester of Kokomo; children Wilbur (Penny) Hester of Galveston, Angela (Michael) Harmon of Winter Haven, Florida, and Sherry Hester of Rochester; one brother-in-law Jim (Marlene) of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and five great- great -grandchildren; various nieces and nephews and other distant family members and friends, some old and some new.

Clifton is proceeded in passing by his beloved wife Janet Rose, his parents Walter and Eva, two brothers WL Hester of Arkansas and Clayton Hester of Kokomo. and one son Roger Hester of Rochester

At this time, the family will receive family and friends at Ellers Mortuary on 3400 South Webster St. in Kokomo, Indiana, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM with services at 1 PM. Granddaughter Cassondra Hester will be giving a eulogy per Clifton’s wishes. Clifton was a simple, down-home man so please dress casual, like he would.

Son Wilbur and daughter Angela wish to thank each and everyone who knew and loved their father and mother. In their father‘s remaining time on earth, he was cared for and made comfortable by special people. We wish to say special thanks to Compassus Hospice and their special nurses, aides, social workers, and chaplain, who helped the family in more ways than they can comprehend. Nurse Heather, we’re so thankful for you. The advice and the hugs were very much needed, His aid Molly, his buddy and my lifesaver, thank you. I couldn’t have done it without you. Social worker Beth, thank you for being there to listen and support us through this time. And a thank you to Chaplain Allen who made it possible for Clifton to be baptized, and there were many other Compassus angels we are thankful for.

We would also like to count as family angels, his granddaughter Cassondra Hester for the help and advice in how to care for her grandfather, his great-granddaughter Destinie Feller for helping with the care of her great-grandfather. You’re an angel. It would have been a mess without you, truly. Thank you to his nephew and niece Jim and Wanda Chorrushi, who held a special place in his heart through the years. That showed every time they came over. It always put a very big smile on his face. Dad had some very unique relationships with all his grandkids and great-grandkids. I personally will treasure each tidbit that I remember. I personally could not have done anything without my husband Michael, my brother Bud, and my brother‘s wife and my sister-in-law Penny for their love, support, and all the little things they did for our dad, all the family and friends, and their support as well.

Sandra Ann Wisher (Land)

Sandra Ann Wisher (Land), of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Sandra was born on May 28, 1939, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Floyd Land and Edna (Holt) Land, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her son Kevin Wayne Wisher, her brothers Michael Land and Robert Land, and her sisters Lorraine Rollins and Linda Duke.

Sandra retired from Community Family Health Center, where she faithfully served as a Medical Records Clerk from 1999 until her retirement in 2009. She was known for her kind heart, quiet strength, and an unwavering love for her family (and the Colts).

She is survived by her children Keith Wisher (fiancée Kim Pier) and Kelli (Truman) Elkins; daughter-in-law Stephanie Reed; her grandchildren Courtney (Brian) O’Hara, Kayla (Jonathan) Keith, Caleb (Nycole) Wisher, Connor Wisher, Abbi Elkins (fiancé, Kolby Thomas), and Eli (Lexi) Elkins; and great-grandchildren Truman Keith, Jackson Presser, Roman Keith, Raelynn Keith, Parker O’Hara, and Declan O’Hara.

She is also survived by her brother James Land, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Nothing brought Sandy more joy than her family. In her own words:

“To those I love very much—my children, their spouses, my grandchildren, their spouses, and my great-grandchildren—you were all my pride and joy.”

Visitation will be held at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, on Wednesday, July 8, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a funeral service on Thursday, July 9, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Jonathan Keith officiating.

Sandy requested a service filled with faith and music she loved, including gospel hymns and several of her favorite Elvis Presley songs!

Sandra’s legacy is one of love, devotion to family, quiet faith, and a life well lived. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Norma J. Jones

Norma J. Jones, 80, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Tipton, Indiana.

She was born on March 13, 1946, in Elwood, Indiana, to the late Charles and Ludwicka Ross. Norma grew up with a strong sense of family and carried those values throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of Tipton High School and remained connected to the community she called home for so many years.

On November 26, 1966, she married the love of her life, Clinton Jones. Together, they shared a devoted marriage filled with love, laughter, and many years of memories until his passing in January 2025. Norma treasured her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and she found great joy in the close relationships she built with those around her.

Norma is survived by her sons Matthew Jones and his wife Charlene, and Martin Jones and his wife Amy. She was a loving grandmother to Shaun Jones and Cheyenne Jones. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Roe and husband Kenny, her brother Melvin Ross, and several nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and gratitude. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Duncan, her sister-in-law Patty Ross, and her brother-in-law Greg Duncan.

Norma spent many years working as a cook, beginning her career at Stokely Van Kamp and later serving at the Tipton County Jail and Miller’s Manor. She took pride in her work and cared deeply for the people she served. Her kindness and dependable nature made her a valued presence wherever she worked. She approached her responsibilities with dedication and warmth, and those who knew her appreciated the comfort and care she brought to every meal she prepared.

Outside of work, Norma enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. She loved crocheting and found joy in creating with her hands. She enjoyed a good romance novel and could often be found tending to her garden with patience and care. Cooking for her family was one of her greatest joys, and she especially loved gathering loved ones around the table. She also enjoyed collecting jewelry, and each piece reflected her appreciation for beauty and the special things in life.

Those who knew Norma will remember her as funny, loving, and faith-filled. She had a warm spirit and a gentle way of making others feel welcome. Her sense of humor brought smiles to many, and her loving heart touched everyone blessed to know her. Her faith guided her through life and gave her strength in both joyful and difficult times.

Norma’s life was one of devotion, kindness, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved her most.
