The Kokomo Creek Chubs are three-quarters of the way through their four-game homestand. Tuesday night they fell to the Lafayette Aviators, 3–0. The following two nights brought matchups with the Johnstown Mill Rats, with Wednesday ending in an 11–8 loss and Thursday resulting in a narrow 1–0 defeat.
The Creek Chubs enter Friday night’s finale against the Chillicothe Paints looking to close the homestand on a high note. Overall, the Chubs hold a 3–6 record. Despite the results, the Chubs have shown steady flashes of strong pitching throughout the week, with their arms keeping games competitive even in high-pressure situations. The bullpen and starters alike have battled through tight innings and worked to limit damage against quality opponents.
Offensively, the lineup has demonstrated the ability to put together quality at-bats, drive the ball, and manufacture runs when opportunities arise. At times, the bats have come alive in bunches, keeping games within reach and applying pressure to opposing pitching staffs. However, consistency has been the main challenge, as momentum has shifted inning-to-inning against strong competition.
As Friday night approaches, the Chubs will look to piece together a complete performance on both sides of the ball. Pitching depth and timely hitting will be key factors if they hope to finish the homestand strong against the Paints and carry momentum into the next stretch of games.
Fans have continued to show strong support, creating an energetic atmosphere each night and witnessing a team still working to find its rhythm. With one home game remaining this week, Friday offers an opportunity for the Chubs to reset the tone and head into the road with confidence.
First pitch against the Chillicothe Paints is set for 7:05 p.m., with all eyes on a potential strong finish to the homestand.
