Sometimes, the game is efficiency, not volume. The Northwestern Tigers demonstrated that Sept. 3. They scored a single goal in their boys' varsity soccer match with the Western Panthers, and it was enough.

The goal, scored by junior Gavin Morrow, was one of just three shots on goal attempted by the Tigers. Junior Jack Parado registered an assist on the winning shot.

Defensively, Northwestern goalie Kobi Moore, a junior, had his hands full as Western took 10 shots on goal. Moore served up a shut-out, making the save each time.

Western goalie Keegan Tedder, a junior, is credited with two shots on goal saved in the match.

The win pushes Northwestern's record to 3-2-1 on the season. The tigers host Maconaquah today at 5 p.m.

The loss was the second setback for the Panthers, though they followed up with a win at Mississinewa on Sept. 5. Western travels to McCutcheon today for an 11:30 a.m. match.
