The middle school basketball teams at Northwestern and Taylor took to the court for a day of hoops action earlier in January. Balls bounced and flew about the gymnasium for hours as each team took its shot at a win.

The day featured contests between the sixth-grade A and B teams, a sixth-grade girls’ bout, and games featuring the seventh- and eighth-grade boys’ teams.

The outcome of each competition wasn’t nearly as valuable as the skills and strategies placed into practice.

The lessons of today will translate into action on a varsity court for some of these players one day.

The Kokomo Lantern is proud to present a photographic chronicle of the day’s events, featuring a photo gallery for each of the sixth-grade games, as well as galleries featuring each team in the seventh- and eighth-grade competitions.
