Isotopes, Knights face off in 12U baseball; Vipers, Nitro battle on softball field
This article is brought to you by Elect Lisa Washington for Howard County Commissioner District 1. As your county commissioner, I will bring transparency & accountability to local government where it is sorely lacking, ensure our county facilities & infrastructure are properly managed, meaning taxpayer dollars are used more effectively, and bridge the gap in communication between our local and state elected officials to ensure your voice is heard by everyone who represents you.

Spring is in full swing, and that means bats cracking baseballs and softballs all over the diamond. The fields at Championship Park came alive last week with boys and girls competing in their version of the National Pastime.
In 12U baseball action, the Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union Isotopes met the Quality Plumbing and Heating Knights. There was no shortage of offense on the field as the kids scattered hits and made defensive stops that fueled big-league baseball dreams.
On the same evening, the Vipers and Nitro took to the diamond for a 10U softball contest. The girls fought mightily for victory but maintained strong sportsmanship on and off the field.
Kokomo United Baseball and Softball (KUBS) competition continues at Championship Park throughout the late spring and early summer before giving way to travel baseball and softball tournaments. Some of the KUBS teams will be featured in those contests.
Enjoy additional photos from these two contests, courtesy of Adam Hartsough, on the Lantern’s Facebook page.
