On July 18, 2025, at approximately 2:33 p.m., correctional officers with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office requested an ambulance for an unconscious and unresponsive male inmate.
Correctional officers and on-site medical staff immediately began CPR until paramedics from St. Vincent arrived on scene approximately four minutes later. The inmate was transported to a local hospital, and his condition remains unknown at the time of this release.
Preliminary findings suggest the incident was a suicide attempt. Due to the sensitive nature of the situation, the name of the inmate and further details are being withheld pending notification of the family.
