The Kokomo Howard County Public Library, in conjunction with Indiana Landmarks and the Carver Community Center, will present Black Heritage Preservation with Indiana Landmarks on Sat., Feb. 17, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St.

Eunice Trotter, director of the Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program, will discuss her role in preserving Black history in Indiana.

During the program, Trotter also will talk about how she honored her ancestor, Mary Bateman Clark, through an Indiana Historical Bureau marker. She wrote a book about Clark's 1821 Indiana Supreme Court decision that helped end indentured servitude in Indiana. Her book, "Black in Indiana," will be on sale after the event.
