Carolyn Jean Crockett

Carolyn Jean Crockett, 83, of Kokomo, passed away on January 19, 2024, due to complications from pneumonia. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on August 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Ray and Ruth (Elliott) Boyd.

Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was the founder of Breezy Hill Bait and Tackel in Monon, IN. She loved little kids learning to fish and long talks over coffee as she painted and tied lures and jigs for so many fishermen and families.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Jill) Munson, Lisa Keeler, Jeff Munson; sister, Janet Reecer; grandchildren, Meaghan (Andrew) Salinas, Nicholas (Ashley) Munson, Alex “AJ” Munson, Zack Keeler, Erin Franklin, Styles Munson; great-grandchildren, Connor Salinas, Wyatt Salinas, Nora Salinas, Haley Franklin, Hannah Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Crockett; and brothers, James Boyd, Ray Boyd Jr.

Larry Gene Byers

Larry Gene Byers, 71, of Greentown, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on August 27, 1952, the son of the late Myerl Russell and Dorothy Thieke Byers. On September 12, 1975, he married Linda Fulford, and she survives.

Larry graduated from Haworth High School in 1971. He worked at Delphi Electronics and retired in 2008. Larry was the rock of his family and loved God, his wife, and his family with all of his heart. Over the years Larry welcomed many into his heart and home. He would encourage anyone to help a child in need and fostered and adopted many children through The Villages of Indiana.

Along with his wife, Linda, Larry is survived by his children, Anna (Matt) Landseadel, Brad (Amanda) Byers, Damon Byers, Cece Byers, Daisy Byers, Lexi (Kole) Bonnette, Papee Byers, Addie Byers, Gracie (Payton) Stroud, and Darrell Davis; brothers, Rick (Kitty) Byers, and Jim (Kim) Byers; step-father, Carson Hughes; father-in-law, Bobby Fulford; brother and sister in-laws, Eric & Brenda Foland, Rick & Karen Rust, Mike & Susie Fulford, fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Myerl and Dorothy; children, Lea Byers, and Larry Byers Jr.; sister, Theresa Downs; mother-in-law, Mearl Fulford; and step mother-in-law, Pat Fulford.

Richard Lee Draine

Richard Lee Draine, age 72, of Frankfort, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was born July 4, 1951, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Carl and Mary Draine.

Richard met the love of his life, Rebecca "Ann" Chapman, in North Carolina. They loved each other fiercely for 47 years. Richard's second love was building cars, specifically Chevy Novas. He'd take them completely apart and rebuild them in his garage. His love of cars extended to watching NASCAR. He was a big Dale Earnhardt fan like most.

He also had a joy for fishing. He had spent a lot of time outdoors with his two stepsons. Richard was a kind and generous man. He'd help anybody in need.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Rebecca "Ann" Draine; sister Carol Herr of Alabama; stepsons David Williams and Chris (Becky) Williams of North Carolina; grandchildren Amber, Taylor, Kristy, and Austin; and great grandchildren Adalyn, Autumn, Jarvis, and Jaxon. In addition to his parents Richard was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Beth Williams.
