Ann C. Prater

Ann C. Prater, 82, of Kokomo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at her home in Kokomo. She was born May 19, 1941, in Guntersville, AL to Thomas H. and Hattie (Mosley) Cornelius. She first married Garold Armstrong and he preceded her in death August of 2017. She later married Ronald Prater Sr. and he preceded her in death.

Ann retired from Community Howard Cheer guild in 2022, with many years of service. Earlier in her career she had been a dispatcher for Collins Moving Systems and later Guyer the Mover. She also served with Guardian Angel Hospice. Ann never met a stranger and took it upon herself to help others every chance she could. She transported many friends and neighbors to doctors’ appointments and other activities. She was a member of Judson Road Christian Church and remained very active in her Church and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events for as long as she was physically able.

Surviving family include her two sons, Tony L. (Justina) Armstrong and Troy L. (Jill) Armstrong. She is also survived by grandchildren Krista (Jacob) Gorski, Lorraine (Joshua) Hohl, Trent (Elizabeth) Armstrong, Travis Armstrong and Trace Armstrong. She was a proud great grandmother to Hadalynn Gorski, Archer Hohl, and Tyson Armstrong. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands, and siblings, Myra Mahan, Virginia St. John, Nola Lambert and Thomas B. Cornelius.

Visitation will take place Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will follow promptly at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rod Mason officiating. Ann will be laid to rest in Spring Dale Cemetery near Bunker Hill, Indiana. Beverly Ann Jenkins

Beverly Ann Jenkins, 87, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:57 am on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital-Kokomo. She was born on December 9, 1936, in Burlington, the daughter of Ancel and Alice (Gerber) Bowley. On August 14, 1960, she married Earl E. Jenkins, and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2019.

Beverly graduated from Burlington High School in 1954 and Indiana University - Bloomington in 1958. Beverly went on to earn her master’s degree in education from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1961. She retired on May 1, 1995, from Kokomo Center Township Schools after 35 years of service. During her years at Kokomo Center Schools, she served as a language arts teacher, librarian and director of the media center at the downtown high school campus. Beverly enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.

She is survived by her friends and former students at Kokomo Center Schools. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Burlington Cemetery.
