Leland Dale "Lee" Lovall

Leland Dale "Lee" Lovall, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024, in Kokomo, Indiana, at the age of 81. Born on July 21, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, to Emma and Dale Lovall, Leland's life was a testament to his enduring spirit and capacity for love.

Leland graduated from Hobart High School in 1960 and soon after answered the call of duty by serving his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964. His patriotism and sense of responsibility were hallmarks of his character throughout his life. After his military service, Leland embarked on a long and dedicated career as a millwright for Bethlehem Steel, where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 2000.

In his personal life, Leland was a beacon of strength and support for his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 41 years, Debra Lovall, and a loving father to his children, Dan Lovall (Sheri), Doug Lovall (Arlene), and Jeremie Lovall (Amy). He took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Aaron, Anna, Samantha, Brianna, and Sam, and as a great-grandfather to Andrew, Marcus, and Robert. Leland's legacy of love and guidance will continue to live on through them.

Leland was the beloved brother of Carolyn Martakis, Norma Longmore, and Dave Lovall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Dale Lovall; his first wife, Adrienne (Immel) Lovall; and his brothers, Ron, Jim, and Mike Lovall. His life was enriched by the presence of many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom felt the warmth of his generous spirit.

Leland's interests were a reflection of his multifaceted personality. He was a man who could fix anything, a trait that earned him the affectionate title of being incredibly handy. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he was actively involved in serving at his church, where he found great fulfillment. Leland had a passion for Old Warbird Aircraft and classic cars, hobbies that he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends.

Together with his wife Debi, Leland undertook numerous projects, always with a sense of adventure and teamwork. He was known for his willingness to help anyone with anything they needed, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His loving nature and faith-filled life were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Words that best describe Leland are handy, faith-filled, and loving. These attributes were the foundation upon which he built his life and the legacy he leaves behind. Leland's impact on the world was significant, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Leland Dale Lovall's life was one of service, love, and commitment to the values he held dear. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in the memories we shared and the knowledge that his spirit will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace, knowing that his life was well-lived and that he was deeply loved.
